COMBINED SHOW.

YOUNG CATS AND RABBITS. j The first combined show of young stork, I under the auspices of the Canterbury Rabbit; Breeders' Association and the New Zealand Oat Club, was held on Saturday afternoon. There were good entries in all classes, and the standard, in the opinion of the nudges, was quite satisfactory. The officials connected with the show were Messrs R. Gudsell (president New Zealand Cat Club) and W. G. "Wright (president (Canterbury Rabbit Breeders' Association). The secretaries were Mrs T. Lewis and Mr A Lawrence. The judges w«re: —Kittens, Mrs J. Talbot; Angora rabbits, Mr A. C. Smart; Chinchillas, Mrs W. G. Wright. Following were the results:— CATS. Dark male, under three months (1): Mrs T. Johnson 1. Dark female, under three months (4): Mrs T. Johnston 1, Mrs R. Gudsell 2. Dark male, three months and under six months (1); Mrs T. Lewis 1. Park female, three months and under six months (2): Mrs A. K. Turnbull 1. Light male, under three months (6) : Mrs M. V. Hull 1 and 3, Mrs T. Johnston 2. Light female, under three months (4): Mrs M. V. Hull 1 and 2. Light male, three months and under six months (2): Mrs R. Burrowes 1. Light female, three months and under six months (1): Mrs T. Lewis 1. Children's class (3) : Brenda Marshall 1, Hughie Gourley 2, Thelma Rickard 3. Cup for kitten with most points—Mrs M. V. Hull (Cherie). Runner-up, Mrs T. Lewis (a red tabby), RABBITS. Angoras—Buck, under six months (3): J H. Cox 3, Selwyn Farm 2. Doe, under six months (6): Miss G. M. Wright I, W. Barwjek 2, J. 11. Cox 3. Buck, under three months (3): A. Lawrence 1, A. S. Pratley 2. Doe# under three months (4): A. Lawrence 1, A. S. Pratley 2 and 3. Buck, shorn, under six weeks (6): Miss G. M. Wright 1. Selwyn Farm 2, A. S. Pratley 3. Chinchillas—Buck, under six months (11): A. Lawrence 1, S. Craig 2. Philips 3. Buck or doe. under three months (4) ; Avenal Farm 1 and 3, L. W. Reid 2. FANCY DRESS CONTEST.. A fancy dress contest, held in connexion with the show, was judged by Mesdumcs A. W. McGillivray and W. G. Wright. Results were as follows: Girls—Betty Turnbull (Bride) 1, Phyllis Bonn (South Sea Islander) 2, Freda Benn (South Sea Islander) 3. Special: Betty Schramm (Hawaiian). Most original: Lola Blyth (Aulsebrook's) and Brenda Mahon (Washing Day) (equal) 1. Boys—Rex Anderson (Napoleon) 1, Law-ri-nce Sinclair (N.Z.-made goods) 2. Consolation Prizes—Kathleen Diffin, Glorie Owen, Vonuie Waugh, and Rita Hepplewhite.
