E Warren (Auckland) and A. T. Pasc-oe (Quecnstown) are staying at the Royal Hotel. Messrs W. Machin and H. D. Aeland were passengers from the north by yesterday morning's ferry steamer. Cr. J. H. Mooro was sympathised with at last night's meeting of the Heatlicote County Council in the death of his sietcr. Guests at Warner's Hotel include Messrs J. P. Macneil, I. Evans,-(Mel-bourne), W. A. Selig, life member of the Newspaper Proprietors' Association and member of the executive of the New Zealand branch of the Empire Press Union, will leave on Monday for Auckland to attend the annual conferences of those bcSdics.
