0 THE RATES. Those ratepayers who have not yot paid their rates have less than a fortnight in which to do so before the 10 per cent, penalty is imposed. The final day is Thursday, February 25th. Objections to the valuations for the next financial year must' be made not later than Monday next. The valuation list is open for inspection at the Council office. Sailing. Tho ocean sailing race to Port Levy this afternoon will start at 2.30 under the Mark Foy system. The Canterbury Yacht and MotorBoat Club will hold a race for Takapuna sailing boats this afternoon. Ketch to be Careened. Provided the sea moderates sufficiently, the auxiliary ketch Water Lily will be taken across to Pile Bay this morning and careened there to enable her Jiull to be inspected and repaired. The work will be done during low tide this afternoon. It is expected to float tho Water Lily off on the next tide.
