The wind was light and varied between east and south-west. Wellington—There was an improvement in the weather in Wellington yesterday, the southerly wind decreasing in force. A little rain fell. Tho indications are for a further improvement, Dunedin—The weather again was fine and pleasant in Dunedin yesterday, with considerable passing clouds and a fresh breeze from the north-east. The barometer was rising, and registered SO.lOin last evening. Forecast. General Situation—The cyclone which was located to the eastward yesterday is (slowly moving away. A slight depression is still centred over Tasmania. Pressure is still higher in the south than in tho north of New Zealand, Winds—Mainly between south-east and north-east, moderate to strong.

Seas (New Zealand waters) —Rather rough to rough on all the East Coasts and in tho Cook Strait area, hut moderating somewhat. Elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate to strong south to cast winds and moderate to rather rough seas.
