YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS. Some sections of 'the market yesterday were brighter, and there was an increased turnover in Bank shares and Goldsbrough, Morts. Transactions, exclusive of vestibule business, were:— £2OO .JT.Z. Govt. 5-J per cent. Bonds, 1937. £6OO, Christchurch Trams 4-1 per cent., 1934 (Late sale 10th). MOO Comm. Bank of 'Aust. 20 National Bank of Australasia (£5 paid). 50 National Bank of New Zealand. 40 Union Bank of Aust. 000 Goldsbrough, Mort. 100 N.Z. Befrig. (£1 paid;. 100 OJtristchurch Gas. 150 New Zealand Breweries. 200 British Tobacco. -.l=oo Mt. Lyell. uoo Golden Dawn. 1000 Maliakipawa. 50 Waihi.

New Zealand Government 31 per cent. Bonds duo 1937 realised £99 12s 6d, sellers staying in at that price, buyers at £99 7s (3d. A late sale of Christchurch Tramway Board 4} per cent. .1934 Debentures on the 10th instant was loported at £9O 10s. Commercial Bank of Australia shares changed hands at 14s 2d and 1.4s 3d, market closing 14s 2d buyers, 14s 3d sellers. National Bank of Australasia £5 paid shares had business at £5, closing quotations Is on either side. National Bank of New Zealand were firm at £3 lis, closing quotes £3 7s 6d buyers. £3 12s Gd sellers. Bank" of New Zealand were lirm with sellers at 455, buyers at 44s lOd. Union liank of Australia weakened to £7 tis (3d and £7 4s. sellers staying in at the lower price; buyers at £7. • Goldsbrough, Morts recovered to dealings at 225, 22s 2d, 22s 3d, and 22s 4d,. market closing 22s buyers, 22s Id sellers. N.Z. Refrigerating £1 paid shares' were firm with sellers and business at 10s Cd, buyers at 10s 2d. Sellers of AVestport Coals came down to 22s 6d, buyers at 21s. Christchurch Gas remained unaltered: at 25s 6d, and there were further unsupported sellers at.that price. New Zealand Breweries recovered to 2os yd, market closing 25s 2d buyers, 25s Od sellers. British Tobaccos had dealings at 2(3s and 26s Od, and more were wauted at 26s,*sellers at 26s Id. Buyers of Henry ,'Jones Coop. shares moved up to 23s 9d without attracting sellers. Mt. Lyells, on the morning call, changed hands at 19s Od and 19s Bd, and on the afternoon call at 19s 3d, sellers staying in at the lowest price; buyers at 19s. Golden, Dawn Gold Mining shares had dealings at 7s 7-Jd and 7s 7d, market closing 7s 7-Jd .Rollers, 7s 7d buyers.' Mahakipawa Goldfield shares were released at 2d and 2i}d. Waihis advanced to 17s 4d, buyers staying in at. that figure; sellers at 17s 0(1.

SYDNEY. Although irregularity was displayed in Commonwealth, bonds on tho Sydney Stock Exchange yesterday, the volume of business was better thai! usual, prices showing only the slightest variation compared with Wednesday, with a tendency on the part of most issues to strengthen.
