Amid the • passionate cries of farewell of their women relatives and answering shouts of "Down with the Republic," 109 Anarchists and Communists, the riDg-leadera of the Cataloiiiau rebellion, were embarked to-day at Barcelona for deportation to Spanish Guinea (West Africa). Tlic deportees were not tried in the law Courts, and will bj confined aboard for 20 days, without knowing what punishment "is awaiting them. Senor Franco and other Radical deputies tumultously protested to the Cortes, Senor Franco declaring that a revolutionary protest strike was being prepared in Barcelona, with which he sympathised.
