After experiencing a period of dormancy in common with most . other country places, the little town of Cromwell, in Central ">tago, has awakened to a quiet thrill of expectancy and optimism. The Mining Association there has.effected an arrangement with the Unemployment Executive by which the Association is now employing the unemployed miners on prospecting* work. The work in itself is already proving to be considerably more fascinating than the uneconomic tasks on which the unemployed have of late been engaged.
