LINWOOD SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

At tlie monthly meeting oi : the Linwood School Committee. Mr C. R. Mackie presided, and there ivere present Mrs Cairney, .Mrs Gilbert (secretary), and Messrs Fleivelliu, Friedman, Harrison, and Martin. Apologies were received from Messrs Anderson and Diehl. TIIO headmaster's report showed that tlie number of scholars at the opening of the term was considerably in excess of last year. He thanked the committee for the noi'k that had been carried out during the recess. Final arrangements were made for the picnic on February 11th. A. letter from tjie Tramway Board stated that ears •would leave Aldtvin's road and Dallington respectively at 9.30 a.m. on Thursday, returning from the Ric'carton racecourse by the trams leaving there at 6 p.m. Messrs Friedman and Martin were appointed a visiting committee. It was decided that there should., be. no holiday on February 12th.
