ACCIDENTS.
♦ KNOCKED DOWN BY TRUCK. A middle-aged man. James Hogal, of Marshland, was knocked down by a motor-van in Marshland road about 9 a.m. yesterday. He suffered severe head injuries, and was admitted to the Christehurch Hospital in a critical condition. Last evening lie was still semiconscious, and his condition -eras reported to be serious. KILLED BY RAKE OF TRUCKS. HAMILTON, February 4. Struck by a rake of six coal trucks vesterday in the Macdonald mine, at Huntly, George Robert Scott, aged 59 years, a married man, received fatal iniuries. He was walking.up an incline to inspect the workings and did not notice the approach of the trucks until it was too late.
