UNEMPLOYMENT.
STRIKERS RETURN TO WORK. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEQ&AM.) WELLINGTON, February' 3. The Lower Hutt and Petone branches of the Relief Workers' Organisation decided this morning at separate meetings, by a practically unanimous vote in each case-, to resutiiQ work immediately, accepting the conditions laid down. It Is understood that the conditions ai'e: That there should be no victimisation ; that an endeavour will be mado to arrange for the men to make up for time lost; that those in authority shall make every effort to get better terms regarding days to be worked ; that the men be not asked to go back to the Eastbourne drainage job this week; and that that work should be resumed on Monday. the decision wa& announced, 176 men had applied for work at Lower Hutt and Petone. To-day 150 men were working at Eastbourne. The men | all returned to work to-day.
