A NEW APPOINTMENT. HEAD OF RECONSTRUCTION CORPORATION. (UNITED FI-XSR ASSOCIATION —BY ELECTKIC T»i EOEAPD —CCPTKIGBT.) WASHINGTON, January 19. President Hoover has selected the retiring Ambassador to Great Britain, General C. G. Dawes, to be head of the new two thousand million dollar reconstruction corporation. The Secretary of State, Mr H. L. Stimson, will replace him as head of the United States delegation to the Geneva Disarmament Conference. General Dawes stated later that his resignation as Ambassador became effective immediately in view of the appointment. He had intended to resign m the spring.
