The Bank of France has arranged to repatriate 125,000,000 dollars of gold now held under earmark. New York bankers, however, have asserted that the transfer would not involve anv increase in the gold holdings of ' the French Central Bank nor any decrease in the monetary stocks of gold of the United States, which a week ago totalled 4,457,000,000 dollars apart from which approximately 400,000,000 dollars here are earmarked to foreign accounts, particularly Belgium.
