FREE KINDERGARTENS.
♦ STATE AID WITHDRAWN. (PBSSS ASSOCIATION TXU9BAX.) DUNEDIN, December 22., A serious blow to free kindergartens is contained in a memorandum from the Director of Education that no Government grants will be available for them after the current year. The amount received bv Dunedin in the V?ast has been about ■ £IOOO, and a heavy curtailment in the scope of schools is inevitable. A conference held this morning to decide what steps to take, was presided over by Sir Thomas Sidey.
