The Taupata arrived here yesterday afternoon from Tarakohe, and is to be diispatcliod this afternoon with cargo for Kelscfn, Mapua, and Matueka. The Holmdale is to arrive here this morning from the south to ,take in cargo for Wellington, Picton, and "Wanganui. The Waipahi is due here from Timaru thiß morning to load for Napier and Gisbornc. The Parera loft Wellington at 12.5 p.m. yosterday for Lyttelton. She is due this morning, and will lay up temporarily. The John should arrive here on Wednesday next from the south, and is to sail the same day for Wellington, New Plymouth, i and Waikato. The Nobel auxiliary schooner Huia left Sydney last Monday for Melbourne to load explosives for Fremantle. From Fremantile she will return to Melbourne to load explosives for New Zealand. The Bank Line motor-ship Glenbank left Auckland on Saturday far .Nauru Island to load a further phosphate cargo for Auckland. Advice has been received by the Union Company that the R.M.S. Makura, from Sydnoy and Wellington, reached San- Francisco at 2.30 a.m. on Friday. The Rangitane sailed from Wellington yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton, and ia due liero earjy this morning to commence discharge of her London cargo. She has been fixed to commence her Homeward loading during, discharge at Bluff on January 6th. She will later at Lyttelton, Auckland, Toltomara Bay, Napier, and Wellington. The Rangitane :« to clear Wellington finally on January 30th for Southampton and London, via Panama. MATAKANA AT AUCKLAND. cargo from Glasgow and Liverpool for discharge at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, the Sha-.v-Kavill steamer Matakana arrived at Auckland on Sunday morning from Liverpool. She is due at Wellington on December 31st and Lyttelton on January 6th. RARANGA DUE TO-MORROW, To continue her Homeward loading the Shav;-Savi!l steamer Raranga arrived at Wellington on Monday mprning from Auckland. She is to leave Wellington to-day for Lyttelton to fill up, and ft scheduled to clear this port finally on December 30t)h for London, via Panama and Kingston. MATAI'S MOVEMENTS. The' lighthouse steamer Matai is <.o leave Wellington on January 4th to effect a transfer of keepers at the Stephens Island and Farewell Spit lights. On returning to Wellington she will load for the southern tour of- inspection, and is to leave Wellington about January 14th. MONOWAI AT SYDNEY. Advice has been received that the Union Company's liner Monowai, from San Francisco and Wellington, arrived at Sydney at C a.m. on Saturday. She will leave there again to-morrow for Wellington, and is due there next Monday -morning She will leave again the following afternoon for San Francisco. via Rarotonga and Papeete. SHAW. SAVILL LOADINGS. The Shaw. Savill Company advises that Iho Herminius, en route from London via thf. Cape of Good Hope in ballast, is due Sit Wellingtpn on January sth to commence her Homeward loading. She will subsequently complete at Lyttelton, Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland, and is to clear the northern port finally on January 30th for London, vi<i Panama and Kingston. The liner Tainui, at present en route from London and Southampton, to Wellington and Auckland, has been fixed to commence her Homeward loading durinrr discharge at Auckland about January 18th. She will later complete at Opua, Wanganuv, and Wellington, The Tainui, is scheduled to clear Wellington finally on February 50th for Southampton and London, via Panama and Kingston. The claim will be settled in the usual way, by arbitration. FEDERAL LINE LOADINGS. The Federal Company ailvises that the n otor-sbip Opawa, ut present en.route from Liverpool to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Timaru, has been fixed to commence her Homeward loading during discharge at Timaru about January 18th. She "will subsequently complete at Port Chalmers, Bluff, Napier, Wellington, and Lyttelton. The, vessel ia scheduled to clear Lyttelton finally on February 6th for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow, via Cape Horn and Dakar. The Norfolk, en route from Falmouth in ballast, is due at Wellington on January IPtb to commence her Homeward loading. She will later complete at New Plymouth, Wanganui. Gisborne, and Auckland, and is to c!:ar the northern port finally on February 3rd for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow, via Panama. C. AND D. LOADINGS. The C. and D. Line advises that its motor-ship Port Fremantle, at present en route from London to Auckland, Wellington, and Nelson, has been fixed to commence her Homeward loading during dischaige at Nelson on January Bth. She will subsequently complete at New Plymouth, Napier, Wellington, and Wanganui. The vessel is to clear Wanganui finally on January 30th for. London, via Capo Horn and Dakar. The Port Melbourne is due at Bluff on Jr.nuo.ry 12th from Australia to commence her Homeward loading, and will later complete at Port Chalmers, Pioton, Wellington, and Auckland. She is to clear Auckland finally on February 2nd for London, via Cape Town and Montevideo. The Port Caroline is due at Gisborne from Australia on January 25th to commence her loading, and will later complete at New Plymouth, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Auckland. She is to clear Auckland finally on February 13th for London, via Cape Horn aod Montevideo. THE PORT FULL TO-DAY. To-day will see the largest amount of tonnage in Lyttelton for some years. Seventeen \ossels, totalling 69,275 tons, will be in port, eleven of these, totalling 66,520 tons, being in commission, and six coastal vessels, totalling 2755 tons, being laid up or under repair. THE BREEZE AND STORM. The preliminary enquiry into the grounding of the stcamerß Storm and Breeze near Akaroa and at Port Robinson respectively during the fog on Friday morning last, has been concluded at Lyttelton by the Superintendent of Mercantile Marine, Captain C. M. Penaut,- and the papers have been forwarded to the Marine Department, Wellington. The Department will decide whether or not a nautical enquiry is necessary in each case. The two steamers were docked yesterday wfternoon, and on the. dock being pumped dry at 6.30 p.m., much of the damage of the two vessels could be seen. The damage to the Storm has already been described on the occasion of her previous docking. The damage to the Breeze is chiefly* right on tho bottom, but several feet of the starboard rolling-chock has been torn away and tho adjacent plates dented in. So far as can hn judged, the Storm is the more extensively damaged, and repairs to both vessels will take two or three weeks. TORT OF TIMARU. Arrivals. Tuesday, December 22nd.
