SUBSIDY ON FERTILISER. (PRESS ASSOf.IXTIOX TBLBGBAM.) WELLINGTON, December 15. "A most satisfactory increase in the upe of Buperplipspliato lias respited from the payment of the Government subsidy," said the Hon. D. Jones, Minister for Agriculture, to-day. ''Deliveries already effected and further shipments to the end of the curTent month are greatly*'!n excess of the requisitions originally received from the manufacturers for the half-year July-December, 1931, while the requisitions for tho period Janugry-June, 1932, have also been substantially iwcrpased. Present indications are that deliveries for the current year will substantially excoed those of the yea,r 1930-31 and will be approximately up to the normal position, therefore they must bo regarded as highly satisfactory, and it ia apparent that the action of the Government in granting the subsidy of lis per ton, coupled with the reduction in price made by the manufacturers themselves, has had the desired effect in stimulating the use of phospljatic fertilisers, which must have a very bonfificial effect from the point of view of securing greater production."
