ANNIVERSARY DAY. Tho Lyttelton Borough Council office and the local branch of the Bank of New Zealand will be closed to-day on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the arrival of the Canterbury settlers. liyttelton Club. Tho final euchre party and dance of tho Bcason wero held by members of the Lyttelton Club in the Club Hall on Saturday evening. There was a large attendance of members and friends. Euchre prizes were awarded as follows: —Men: 8. Porteous 1; E. Shepherd, consolation. Ladies: Miss R. Gellety 1; Miss Buckland, consolation. The weekly flying fifty billiards touruameut on Monday night was won by R. Duckworth, who defeated S. Thurlow in the final. Harbour Light Theatre. "Cimarron," a pageant of love and heroic action in the West and starring Richard Dix and Estelle Taylor, is the chief attraction at the Harbour Light Theatre to-night, to-morro* r , and Friday. The supporting programme includes a Mickey Macquife comedy. On Saturday "Beau Ideal," - P. C. Wrfeh's Sequel to "Be&u Geste," will be screened. It is a powerful drama' of the Foreign Legion, and the , cast -is' headed by Ralph Forbes, . Loretta Young, and Irene Rich.
