ACCIDENTS.
WINDOW-CLEANER'S FALL. A window-cleaner. W. A. Aiteheson, of 46 Rosewarne street, Sproydon, fell from a window on tho- first floor of Stewart, Beckett's building in Hereford street at about 10.20 a.m. yesterday, and received head injuries. Ho was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital, and a report late last night stated that his condition was satisfactory. ELECTROCUTED IN BATH. (HIM ASSOCIATION TXUMMUU.) WELLINGTON, December 15. "A crystal set is a perfectly safe instrument for anyone to use," said Mr X B- McNeil, Coroner, at the inquest the death of Leigh Hold - wortH Auton to-day, ''but if the user, under the mistaken idea that he is improving the working of tho set, connects it up to a source of electric power in tho house, an action which is absolutely unnecessary, ho is creating an extremely dangerous condition and running a very grave risk of being electrocuted." . . - , Mr Wilcocks, chief inspector of tho Wellington Corporation Lighting Department, Said that he understood that the cover of tho switch of a hot point had been taken off and the set connected to a live wire by a twist. Apart from the boy being in tha batli this was a dangerous thing to do. It was just courting disaster, and was against thp regulations. A verdict was returned that Auton died by electrocution. The Coroner emphasised the' fact that it was r.n offence to touch the electric installation in any house. FARMER KILLED JBY BULL. WJrile bringing in a herd of cows to milk this afternoon William King* Robb, •aged 58 years, a well-known farmer, of Patutahi, was evidently attacked by a bull, for when search was made for him he was found dead, having been gored by the infuriated animal and the "body rolled under a boxthorn hedge. He leaves a widow and grown-up family. INJURIES PROVE FATAL. (PBIS3 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) MASTEJtTON, December 15. Oswald McAlpine, aged 18, of Martinborough, who was accidentally shot while shooting rabbits at Whatarangi on Sunday, died early this morning. At tha inquest a verdict was returned that de£th'was duo to toxaemia caused by a gunshot wound accidentally self-inflicted.
