The expected resignation of President Chiang Kai-shek as a result of pressure from student organisations was eonfirmed this morning at Nanking, where an emergency meeting of the Government Party leaders is being held to consider the situation. The students opposition to the Government s foreign policy caused many demonstrations throughout the country. Chiang Kaishek's successor is uncertain, but lus resignation opens the way for., the soutfiern leaders, Wang Ching-wei and Wunfu Huhanmin.
