CHRISTMAS CHEER FUND CAMPAIGN. Cbristchurch Rotary Club'a arrangements are almost complete for the street collection on Friday next for funds wherewith to provide a Christinas cheer hamper of necessary foodstuffs for poor and distressed families in the City and suburbs, and, incidentally, a Christmas shilling for each little inmate of the Orphanages.' Enquiries of the various social service organisations and workers show that there are approximately one thousand homes in the City and environs that will not have the wherewithal to purchase a decent Christmas meal ;to say nothing of Christmas cheer in its accepted sense —so the'Kotary Club and its helpers are anticipating a generous response when the collectors invade the City streets on Friday. .
