Tho destioyer Agapta thwarted an attempt to destroy the lighthouse at Cape Grceco. INSURGENTS KILLED. CONFLICT WITH BRITISH TROOPS. (Received November < Ist, 6 p.m.) LONDON, October 31. Tho correspondent of the "Daily Mail" at Athens reports that fifteen insurgents were killed and 50 wounded, mostly by machine-gun &re during a conflict with British troops at Cyprus. APPEAL TO SENTIMENT. (Received November Ist, 7 p.m.) ATHENS, October 31. A committee of forty, including exPresident Konduriotis, has issued a manifesto to enlighten the public opinion of tho "noble and generous English nation and make it understand the rights of the Cypriotes. We trust in tho generosity of the Englkh soul." SITUATION EASIER. (Received November 2nd, 12.5 a.m.) LONDON, November 1. A Colonial Office communique describes tho situation in Cyprus as porcoptibly easier.
