RIFLE SHOOTING.

CHRISTCHURCH DEFENCE CLUB. The Ohristehurch Defence Rifle Club fired its first long-range practice over 800 yards and 900 yards at Tai Tapu on Saturday afternoon. Considering the conditions the scoring was good, and several good totals were registered. At 800 yards H. Reynolds 34, S. Loader 84, D. Murray 34, and R. Neill a possible were the top scorers, while H. Mason and G. Crimp with S3 each were best at 900 yards. • Scores were as follows:
