(Received November Ist, 6 p.m.) CHICAGO, October 31. , With increased values of 328,000,000 dollars in prices for all the principal grains since October, of which the wheat share of the increase has been 67,000,000 dollars and maize 216,000,000 dollars, traders assert that indications from all portions of the world presage a massed improvement in tho American grain market within the next few weeks which will rival the heavy shipping of grain during the World War days. Kecent exports of American grains have been increasingly heavy, duo to the apparent European realisation that the sole available supplies are now held in tho United States and Canada. Mr .Stone, chairman of: tho Federal Farm Board, admitted that the Government had financed grain holdings which were moving at an accelerated rate, and said that the Farm Board had authorised the Grain Stabilisation Corporation again to enter the futures trading market. Grain brokers are predicting dollar wheat by Christmas. Leading United States dealers are hastily opening offices, declaring that tho world shortage is looming, with North America holding command, through the slump in llussian shipments and shortages in Europe. An Ottawa message reports: The Trade Department confirms tho remarkable falling off in Bussian shipments of wheat. The Minister for Trado and Commerce, Mr H. 11. Stevens, states that shipments for the wee!'- ending October 29th were 2,000,000 bushels, compared with 4,000,000 bushels last week, and 3,500,000 bushels a year ago. May wheat at Winnipeg closed at seventy cents a bushel, which represents an increase of one cent and a quarter. It is estimated that 50,000,000 dollars have been added to Canadian grain values during the last five weeks.
