ELDERLY MAN'S DEATH.

MAST:pTOIT, October 28;' The mailman on arriving at bush to-day found $ letter; addressed to him, which stated that the writer was going to make a heap of gome logf in a paddock, saturate them with kerosene, set lire to the pile, &nd shoot himself on top of it. The recipient went to the Bpot indicated and found the charred remains of Richard Monteroy Harcourt, a gardener, aged about 65 years. As far a$ is known he was single, without relatives, and was employed I>y Mr Peter McLaren, who left in the morning, when Harcourt was in his usual good spirits and state of health.
