MUSIC FESTIVAL.

TRAINING COLLEGE CLASSES. The Christehurch Training College llusic Glasses presented the second concert of their third annual festival of music in the Radiant Hall last evening. Tho standard of work generally was high, the singing being particularly good. ' Tho Festival Orchostra, with tho Boys' High School Orchestra, played "Northern Song," "Intermezzo on Two' Folk Songs," "Happy Song," "Melody in C," "March in 11,','I I ,',' "Hong of Sunshine," and "March in D Minor," all composed by T. Vernon Griffith". Tho Festival Choir sang "Welcome Sweet Pleasure" (Weellces), "May Dev.'" (Sterndale Bennett), "Come, Let Us All This Day" (Bach), "Where the 800 Sucks" (Arne). "Wher'er You Walk" (Handel), and "Nymphs and Shepherds" (Purcell). Other items were instrumental trio, "Minuet" (Frank Bridgo), Russell Thomson, Geoffrey Newson, and T. Vernon Griffiths: cornet solo, "The Last Dream" (Oowen), Trevor Richards; song, "On Wings of Song" (Mendelssohn), Caroline Small; duet, "March in D" (Moffatt), Douglas Zander and Colin Bisset; violin solo, "Moto Perpetuo" . (Bohm), .Arnold Leathwick; trio, "River Jordan" (Zamecnik), Harden Maxwell, Ronald Bain, and T. Vernon Griffiths; melody for 'cello, "Song Without Words," Misses Loe, Deniff, _ and Wright, J. Minson, G. Wilson, R. Bain, ■ and N. Walker; violin duet, "Bourreo" (Handel), Russell Thomson and Desmond Hancock; piano duet, "Duet in F Major" (Alfred Burns), Victor Thomas and Kwurt Douglas; trio, "Norwegian Suite" (Hansen), Frank Callaway, Douglas Zander, and Arnold Leathwick; song, "Charming Chloo" (E. German), Nora Cairney; trio, "Allegretto Cantabile" (Laurischkus), Russell Thomson, G. Wilson, and T. Vernon Griffiths: violin duet, "Andante" (Baptiste), Misses Scott and Dixon. Tho characters of an operetta, "The Willow Pattern Plate," with, words by Charles AV. Eralyn, and music by Gerrard Williams and T. Vernon Griffiths, was as follows: Tinj, Tong, Tung (court officials and Ashing enthusiasts), Jock Sutton, Victor Thomas, and Bruce Hewitt; Sing Si, Caroline Small; Wang, Lloyd Collins; Mrs Wang, "Winnie Irwin; Choo,Kathleen Tooth; Kwang, Berkeley Sloane; Aunt to the Prince of Tartary, Ngaire Stoddart; Prince of Tartary, Ewart Douglas; chorus, J. Wildey, S. Fagan R Hooper, R. Fawcott, D. Sloane, G. Joyce! W. G. Blows, J. Trent, W. Barnes, and J. Rogers. The conductor was Mr F. A. Bullock, and the accompanist Mr T. Vernon Griffiths.
