Busfield reported on the Young People's Department, the records shotting an increase of three schools and 66 teachers during the year. About 136 scholars had joined ; the Church and 99 scholars had become teachers. .Of 966 candidates for the annual Scripture examinations, 280 had gained prizes, 308 first-class certificates, 241 second-class certificates, and 81 obtained passes. The following grants ttere made to churches:—Morrinsville £7O, OtahuliU £6O, Richmond £ls, Milford £ls, Sandringham £SO, Avondale £55, Tan- ' ranga £ 45, Royal Oak £ 55, Shackleton Road £2S, Pukekohe £3O, Feilding £SO, Hawel'tt £7O, Gonville £52, Richmond (Nelson) £2O, Island Bay £2O, Oxford £45, Kaiapoi £SO, St. Albans £7O, Gwaka £9O, North InVercargxll £OO, and Papatoetoe £7O. The conference recommended that churches should observe the'fourth Sunday in May as Bible Sunday, The report of the Manujewa Children's Home, Auckland, showed that 70 children were in residenco. It was stated that applications had refused for lack of accommodation. The conference passed a recommendation to the effect that the Manurewa Children's Home Board should be requested to provide a Sunday school hall at Manurewa. , In order to foster the spirit of family Worship, the following Home Department was set upr-"—The Revs. (convener), TuckwellJ G. Jenkin, W. Lambert, and'H. Edridge, and Mr A. H. B. Wright. The following were constituted the Mission Evangelistic Committee: The Revs. P. Parry, R. Stewards, L. A. North, J. Carlyle, and H. E. Edridge, and Messrs W. R. Carey and R. Penman. It was reported by the Young Women's Able Class Union that receipts during the year totalled £dßs» The Young Men's Bible Class Union reported that £595 had been raised, and that £350 of this had been set aside fOr students at the College. _ . The applications of Messrs 13. N. Enright (Hamilton), T. G. Beilby (Neb son), and A. Jamieson (Wanganui) for entrance to the College were approved.
