When Admiral of the Fleet Earl Jellicoe goes to Canada in August to open the National Exhibition at Toronto, he will be : by his young son, Viscount Brocas,'now - a boy of thirteen.; On returning from New Zealand, Viscount Brocas was sent to school at Broadstairs, where he has remained until the present, but he has now passed into Winchester, and will ,go there in September. He has grown into a robust lad, and is very fond of games. At Broadstairs he was in the. cricket eleven and in bpth football teams, and recently he won the boxing championship. For the last two years he has been head of his school. Viscount Brocas is also fond of yachting, and sails his own 13ft dinghy at Bembridge, Isle of Wight. Another interest which he is success-, fully developing is that of .riding, From his father's seat, St. Lawrence Hall, in the Isle of Wight, he has rid-' den to the meet of the fox hounids. One of his hobbies is stamp collecting. He already has a good collection, especially of Dominion stamps, in which ho specialises. The trip to Canada will naturally.. be a great pleasure as well as,being"of great educational advantage. ,

Mr J. Boyd Clark (Christchurch}. has been closely engaged on business affairs since he arrived in England. »He has been a good in Bradford, and now has started oft for the' Continent, the following countries being . included in his itinerary—Belgium, Poland, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden. On September 30th he will connect with the Monowai at San Francisco,! after visiting the Boston branch of Messrs Francis Willey and Co. ,

"Miss Stella Murray (Christchurch) went to Ox'ford to be present at the Musical Festival. This was organised by the 'lnternational Society .for Contemporary Music, aijd'consisted of a week' of intensive music-making, five days being dovoted to. Oxford and two to London. Last night the New ' Zealand' cricketers went to see "London Wall,'? Mr *Vap Druten's successful play, at tjie Duke of' York's Theatre. Miss Marie Mey. (Wellington), has the lead. The party- greatly enjoyed the play, and the excellent acting.
