» —«►- MEETING OF BOARD OF GOVERNORS. # The Canterbury College Board of Governors met yesterday afternoon, the Hon. G. J. Smith presiding. Others present were Mrs W.'TT. Clark, Miss E-. A. Chaplin, Dr. G, M. L. Lester, Messrs H. D. Acland, C. T. Ascliniiiu, W. A. Banks, J. R. Cuniugham, J. J. Dougall, W. M. Hamilton, E. J. Howard, M.P., And L. B. Wood. The High" Schools and Hostels Com- ! mittee reported having received a satisfactory report on tho activities _ of Rolleston House during tho term jus;; ended. ': • It was decided to express t lie Board's thanks to Lord Kilbracken, eldest sou of John Robert Godley, who has presented to the Canterbury Public Library a copy of his recently-published book of reminiscences; also to Messrs Joynt, Andrews, and Cottrell, of Christchureh. who have presented to the Puhlic Library 63 bound volumes of the New Zealand Gazette. The College Committee reported that as tho examiners for the Maeiuillan Brown prize had reported that none of. tho five compositions sent in was worthy of the prize, no award would bo made this yeatl
