AUGUST WEATHER.
MEAN TEMPERATURE LOW. RAINFALL BELOW NORMAL. The monthly'weather, statistics for August, recorded at the Christchurch Magnetic Observatory reveal that the mean temperature was 0.6 below normal, the average temperature for the month over a period of years being 4424. The mean temperature for August this year is almost coincident with the moan for August, 1930, the figures being:— 1930, 43.5; 1931, 43.6.
