VIVI-SECTION IN ITALY.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, —It may interest those of your readers who may be inclined to think of the austere dictator of Italy as a man impervious to sympathy to know that in a recent number of "The Anti-Vivi-section and Humanitarian Beview" the editor reports as follows:—"Some months ago Mussolini received the Duchess of Hamilton and myself in order to discuss vivi-section and the general development of animal protection. [ie declared himself to bo a friend of animals. What he said about th© intelligence of dogs and their psychological affinity with man could not have been better expressed by the most 'sentimental' enthusiast in the animal protection movement. The telegram, which has now come from Rome, tells me that Mussolini and his Government have brought forward a Bill for the control and severe restriction of vivisection.
