REUNION DINNER SUGGESTED. MEN FROM THREE PORTRAITS. (trosi or* ens cobsespoxdext.) LONDON, July 10. Sir Abe Bailey, the well-known South African financier, is thinking of giving an unusual dinner in London on October Ist. In the National Portrait Gallery there are three historic pictures of "the men who won the War." These picture?, which were given to the nation by Sir Abe, are : —"Some General Officers oi the Great War," by the lato John Sargent, R.A.; "Some Sea Officers of the Great "War," by Sir Arthur Cope. It.A.; and "Some Statesmen of the Great War," by the lato Sir James Guthrie, president of the Royal Scottioii Academy. Over sixty War leaders were painted —22 generals, 22 admirals, and 17 statesmen. Sir Abe proposes that the survivors of those in the paintings shall meet in London on October Ist. Tho "Statesmen" group included Mr W. F. Massoy. The "Daily Telegraph" gives the following details regarding the meu who were depicted:— Army Officers. Dead. —General Botha, Lord Rawliuson, Sir Henry Lukin, Lord Home, Sir Henry Wilson, Sir John Cowans, Earl Haig, Earl of Ypres, and Sir Stanley Maude. Living.—Sir Edwyn Alexander-Sin-clair, Sir Walter Cowan, Sir Osmond de B. Brock, Sir William Goodenough,. Sir Montague Browning, Sir William Pakenham, Sir Reginald Tyrwhitt, Sir Rogor Keyes, Sir Cecil Bumey, Earl Bcatty, Sir Charles Madden, Earl Jcllicoc and Lord Wester Wemyss. Dead.—Sir Robert Arbufchnot, Sir Christopher Cradock, the Hon. Horace Hood, Sir John de Robeck, Sir Trevelyan Napier, Marquis of Milfordhaven, Sir Arthur Leveson, Sir Hugh EvanThomas, and Sir Dovetoa Sturdee. Statesmen. Living.—Maharaja of Bikanir, Mr George Barnes, Sir Robert Borden, Sir Erie Geddes, Lord Morris, Sir Joseph Cook, Mr Lloyd George, Mr Churchill, Viscount Grey, and Mr William M. Hughes.
