CARNIVAL IN CALEDONIAN HALL.
0 After running successfully for tjiree afternoons and evonings, the Maori Hui rtnd Greencourts carnival, at the Caledonian Hall, closed on Saturday evening. The Maori pumbers included a stirring powhiri, pois, songs,, lullabies, and hakas, which wero all very popular with the public. Music was, suppled by tho Stanmore Silver Band, and each evening there was a tug-of-war. Entertainments was also offered by a shooting gallery and other side-shows, and there were stalls from which fancy goods, 'produce, and sweetts were sold. The carnival was held under tlip auspices of the Elmwood Bowling Olub ar*dt the Wesley Tennis Club.
