FINAL ROUNDS. SELWYN WINS CHAMPIONSHIP. The final round of tho Canterbury Hockey Association's competition was played on Saturday last in fine weather and the grounds wero again in excellent order. Selwyn succeeded in defeating Sydenham by ono goal to nil and in winning the championship for the Beason. Trinity had the bye and are runnera-up with ono ono point less than the winners. Sydenham and Technical tie for third place. Christchurch played a drawn gome with Technical at Enaor a road, the Btoro being two goals each. Varsity, who have improved greatly during tho season, defeated Kedcliffs by lour goals to two. Tho following table shows tho points gained by the senior teams:-- R A _ p ta . Selwyn dominated the play in the opening stages at Sydenham Park and secured a corner from which B. Hore attempted to net, but was penalised for an infringement, faydenharn instituted a fast run down the left flank and Duffield saved by clearing a high one. Selwyn bottled . up Sydenham for a spell and gained throe penalty corners in fast time, Snook countering a couple of hoB shots. After further play the half-time whistle blew with no score. On resuming, Selwyn still hold the supremacy, and Lane essayed a goal but the ball went outside. H. Technical quickly took tho offensive but offside play spoilt a certain goal. Mcllroy dispatched his forwards and Thompson completed tho effort by a solo run through Technical, scoring for Christchurch 1, Technical 0. Shortly afterwards Thompson again broke away, and a f tor a splendid run, notched a second goal. Chrißtchurch 2, Technical 0. Grafton staged a nice run for Technical on the left and centred to Lohrey, who opened Technicals account. Christchurch 2, Technical 1. The primary schools' five-a-side tournament will be held on Tuesday next at Hagley Park, commencing at 2.15 p.m. sharp. All players are requested to attend punctually and entries will be free iu all grades. Trophy sticks given by the Herbert Smith Trust Fund will be presented to each boy in the winning team. Boys must play in tho same grades as they have been playing in in the ordinary competitions. GREY SHIELD. The Grey shield presented for the club with the best aggregate of points wa3 won by Trinity with 202 points, Sydenham 191, Technical 161, Selwyn 156. WANGANUI DEFEATS BUSH UNION.
