Saturday was fine, but Sunday morning waa cloudy, and continuous rair set in at midday, when the barometer began falling rapidly, the reading last evenins: bein£f 29.75. Wellington—The weather on Saturday was fine, with a cool nor'-wester blowing.. The ffun shone brightly throughout the afternoon. Sunday morning was cloudy, and rain began to fall before mid-day. The Tain cleared again later in the afternoon. The evening was cloudy and calm. Dunedin—Tho weather was chill and unsettled on with occasional sunohino and a light breeze from the north-cast. The barometer v.aß steady and resristored 39.85. Sunday was fine but overcast; lb« barometer wan falling, the reading last evening being 29.55. ' Forecast. General Situation—The East Cape uyctone passed away south-eastwards. A rather in- ! tense depression from the westward moved on to the Dominion, itß centre being located today off the West Coast of Otago. Winds—Moderate to strong northerlles to I westerlies, reaching galo force at places, and backing temporarily to Bouth-westerlies soon. Seas (New Zealand waters) —Rather rough to rough generally. Tasman Sea—Strong west to south-west wind, with rough seas in the Eastern Tasman Sea. Weather—Unsettled, cloudy, and misty, with rain in most districts, and some heavy falls in western districts. Snow on the rrnges of the South Island. Temperatures becoming coldei'.
