I trotting notes. | Reminders. 1 -A-ceeptancos for the Auckland Trotting Club s August Meeting close on : Friday. f for the Now Brighton . Irotting Club's Spring Meeting close on Thursday at 12 noon. ; Stake Winners. j The largest amount o£ stak* money j won at the Now Zealand Metropolitan • 1 lotting Club's Meeting went to Mr il. -McDonald, oi Wellington who, j through the services of Glenrossie, won j i.900; Mr G. J. Barton, of Dunedin, : was next with £.790, Sir Vovago being s responsible for £550 and Sunchild £240; ! and Air J. 1\ McKendry, by the agency ; of Belinda. ii 475, and Quickfiro, £2OO, | had a total or* £075, the same amount that Harold Thorpe won for Mr E. R. Husband. Destroyed on Saturday. The promising maiden troiter by lioai Guy recently trained by A. E. Bussell at New Brighton received injuries 6erious enough to necessitate her destruction when she became entangled in a fence on Friday. Consistent Form Shown. It is a long time since form worked out as well at Addington a3 it did at the recent Meeting, double winners beiug Gemlight, Sir Voyage, Great Logan, Ayrmoiit C .'mes, and Belinda, while in j Glenrossie's throe starts ho was once lirst and twice second; Quickiire ran two seconds, Boneta a first and second, Hoi I'Or two seconds, Warplano a first and third, Harold Logan a third, then a win, Sodium a win a,nd a third, Metoor a second and a win, and Milo Minto a second and a, win. No Luck. Tho Auckland contingent racing at the August fixture at Addington had not a very profitable trip, as Great Ballin was the only one to finish in tho money. He may havo made it more troublesome for Milo Minto had he been givon an opening a littlo earlier in the I'ederal Handicap, as ho was finishing better than anything else, but his effort was too late. The racing no doubt will prove boneCcial to the northerners, and they may bo better fitted for their Auckland engagements this month. Jewel Pointer, Great liu, and Mountain Dell left for the north on Saturday's ferry. A New Zealand Winner. Bingen Lad recorded his first win since leaving New Zealand when ho won a mile and a half race at a recent Meeting in Perth. To Visit Ne-w Zealand. The useful Victiorian performer Lady VTonga lias been sent to G. Gath to train, and it is expected that she will bo included in the team to be brought to New Zealand by Gath early in tho spring. Lady Wonga is a trotter, and a half-sister to the brilliant performer Sir Voyage. Tracks Not Suitable. Locanda Boy was an acceptor on each day of the Meeting just concluded, in the hope that he would striko a heavy track, but such was not the case, so ho was loft in his bor. Two Disappointments. Delightful and i"reo Advice wore two big disappointments last week, as they wero both well backed in their respective races. They did not show their best over the final stages when expected to finish on well, ana neither paid a dividend during tho Meeting. Still Speedy. Duke Bingen still retains all his speed, as he showed in the Addington Handicap on Friday, and is as solid as a rock, but two miles always finds him wanting in stamina. However, he still looks capable of winning a. race over a shorter distance, but on his mark his opportunities aro limited as there are very few fast class trotters' races. Few Favourites Won. Backers of favourites during the Meeting at Addington did not fare verywell, a3 only one favourite each day was sucaessful, Regal Voyage, Sir Voyage, and Belinda being those to win. Sale To-day. The Grand National irotting Stock sale will be opened at nino 0 'clock this morning, when the well-known horses Logan Park, Morrison, John Dillon, Rebel, Granite City, Hilda Grey, and a number of well-bred will be offered. Logan Park and Morrison will be submitted at .11 o'clock. AUSTRALIAN RACING. NEW ZEALAND SUCCESSES. (ViTITF.D rRSSS ASSOCIATION —BY EM3CT&XC telegbaph—copntiGffT.)
