The Tairawhiti team will assemble at Napier on Wednesday. SEVEN-ASIDE. PRIMARY SCHOOLS' TOURNAMENT. NEARLY 1200 PLAYERS. Nearly 1200 young Rugby players took part yesterday afternoon in the Canterbury primary schools' annual seven-a-side tournament, which was held at North Hagley Perk. The turf was in excellent condition, and the day was fine, but a cold north-east breeze made conditions unpleasant for spectators. The matches were divided, as usua\ into six grades, as follows: —Under 10, 11, 12, and 18. and 14 years, and open. Each match was played in five-minute spells,, and if at the end of the set time neither side was ahead play was continued nntil a force-down was made, the. team causing its opponents to do so being awarded a point. Thirteen were required for the matches, which produced some fast and exciting play. The remaining matches will be played this morning, commencing at 9.80. Credit for tho arrangements is due to Mr E. The greatest game of Association football witnessed in Canterbury will take place at English Park this afternoon, commencing at S o'clock. The match will be played between Seacliff, the champion club of Otago, and Nomads, the champion club of Canterbury. Nomads only just managed to beat Westland last week by one goal, and this was scored after playing extra time. In Seacliff they have a harder proposition to tackle. Previous to the big match a curtain-raiser will be put on between two senior clubs for the Hurley Shield. This game will commence at 1.30. RANGERS' CLUB.
