Baton charges by 30 policemen dispersed a crowd of about ](XJO unemployed, who assembled at a house in Fitzroy (a suburb of Melbourne) and threatened to cause troublo over the eviction of a family for the non-pay-ment of rent. The unemployed tore pickets from the fences, and wore about to attack a police sergeant and a bailiff when tho police cars arrived.
