'L'hc loss. suffered by local authorities through the failure of'owners of motorlorries and motor-cars to take out trafiie licenses was the subject of comment by Mr F. 11. Levien, S.M., in the Onehunga Magistrate's Court the other day. The Magistrate remarked that the various local bodies probably lost an enormous sum annually through the negleet of owners of vehicles to comply with the .regulations. Moreover, hundreds of pounds a week would be brought to tho coffers of the city and ■. suburban bodies if the by-law. relating to overtaking at intersections alone were more sternly enforced, and offenders brought before the Court.
