TRIBUTE TO "THE PRESS."
+ WHEAT-GROWERS GRATEFUL. A warm tribute to The I'iikss as the champion of tho wheat-grower in Canterbury was paid by a meeting of growers in tho Hawarden district last night At tho end of tho meeting, tho chairman (Mr W. 11. E. Booker) moved a voto of thanks to Tiie Press, tho only paper which had sent a representative from Christchurch. "Wc cannot let tho mecting x dispcrse without passing a voto of thanks to Tub PuksV said Mr Booker. "Some splendid articles on tho wheat question have been printed in it lately. Tub Pkess has always boon a great help; in fact, it would not bo too much to say that it has been our salvation for many years past." Tito motion was carried unanimously.
