RELIEF SOUGHT.
FAMILIES PROTECTION ACT. CASE IN SUPREME , COURT. Alter hearing further evidence in the Supreme Court yesterday, in a claim for provision under a will, brought under tho Families Protection Act, his Honour Mr Justice Adams reserved judgment. The plaintiffs were Hannah Catherine McTeigue, Christchurch, spinster, Mary Jane Scales, wife' of James Albert Seales, Christchurch, labourer, Beatrice Mfiud Lunn, Christchurch, widow, ■ &nd Agnes Lilly Welsh, of Christchurch, married woman, and Hose Ann Sim, married woman. The defendants were Roydon P. Granger, Christchurch, law clerk to Messrs Wilding and Acland ; the executors and trustees of the will of Hannah Catherine McTeigue, deceased, Hubert Joseph McTeigue, Ernest James McTeigue, and Matthew Norman Charles William McTeigue, three sons of the testatrix, farm workers, ot Halswell,
His Honour was asked to determine a question as to whether a partnership existed between the testatrix aaid her three sons, who were engaged in farming at Halswell. Tho plaintiffs
claimed that no partnership existed and tliey Bought relief under the Act. Mr M. J. Gresson, with him Mr. £. W. White, "appeared for the plaintiffs* Mr F. S. for the trustee under the will, and Mr W. J. Sim f<K the other three defendants.
British prisons are to east over £50,000 less in the, current financial ye&r; but x there ia an increase of £448,821 in the cost of the police forces of the country.
