AMUSEMENTS.
EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. "VENGEANCE." An interesting story, splendidly acted and staged with careful attention to detail, will open at Everybody's on Monday. It is " Vengeance," Columbia Picturos' all-talking drama of the Congo, with Jack Ilolt, Dorothy .Uevier, and Philip Strange. Interest in tho story centres about a group of pepolu in an isolated trading post in West Africa. John Meadhnni, who has been head of the post for several years, is leaving. His place is to be taken by Charles Summers, an egotistical, stubborn person. When Summers arrives in tho blistering tropics with his young, charming wife, ho is severely censured. An antagonism develops between Meadham and Summers. Quarrels between Meadham aud Summerp eventually lead to a disagreement between husband and wife. Margaret, helpless in her predicament, appeals to Meadham, ond the two fall in love. How tho network of intrigue that surrounds theso three interesting characters is eveutuaily unwound, supplies tho action for the remainder of the picture. In distributing acting honburs, first praiso must go to Jack Holt, who gives a splendid performance as Meadham. Dorothy Kevier looks beautiful and gives her usual capable performance ns Margaret. Phillip , Strange proves his histrionic ability by making himself thoroughly disliked as Summers. Here is film faro that has real entertainment value. , Box plans are at Tho Bristol.
