T-* 1 ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Canterbury Justices of the Peace Association was held last night, Mr Alfred "Williams presiding over a good attendance. In moving the adoption oft the 'annual report and balance-sheet, a pmnmary of ■which has been published, the chairman ,paid a tribute to the work done by its officers and members on behalf of the Association, also to the women members. He considered that in the present circumstances the balance-sheet was a satisfactory one. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr Justice Adams; vice-patrons, Messrs H. Holland, M.P., H. P. Lawry, S.M., E. D. Mosley, S.M., .and H. A. Young, S.M.; president, Mr A. H. Hobbs; vice-presidents, Messrs F. hj/ Christian, G. E. Franklin, and Alfred Williams; council, Messrs F. B. Creswell, P. R- Climie, H. F. Herbert, C. H. Gilby, J. J- Hurley, and G. Maginness; registrar, Mr J. J. Baty; hon. solicitor, Mr H. Y. Widdowson; hon. auditors, Messrs J., Mawson Stewart and Alfred Marshall.
