DEMETRAL BEATS HIGGINS. (PBXSS ASSOCIATION TILXGKiM.) NELSON, June, 95. After » good, clean exhibition of wrestling by both contestants, Harry Demetral beat Jack Higgins in the fifth round, alley and LIMUTKIN. A wreHling match between Tom Alley and Peter Limutkin, arranged by the Christchurch Wrestling Association, bids fair to usher in a record reason in Christchurch. Many bookings have already been made for the Civic Theatre on Monday night, when the bout will take place. It will ba of eight rounds of ten minutes each. Limutliin, the giant Finnish champion, made his first appearance in New Zealand in the early part of June, when he was defeated by George Walker, British Empire champion. Limutkin is a skilful leg wrestler, with a healthy knowledge of old and sound ideas. He- is new to New Zealand, while Alley is already well known, and has won a large following. As Limutkin is fresh for victory and is determined to win laurels, there should bo a sterling contest*between him and Alley. Preliminary bouts, in which local amateurs will participate, will be staged prior to the professional bout. Tho sport has been taken up seriously in Christchurch by a number of amateurs, who can be looked to for a good showing.
