WASHINGTON, May 29,
The United States will have a complete plan to propose to alleviate world silver conditions should an international conference be called. While the United States is not disposed to summon the conference, because its interest in the subject as a producing country, State Departmental officials said to-day the American representatives to such a parley would contribute a -concrete plan to help solye the problem. ~.»* + Dispatches from China to the eifect that the Chinese would postpone until the autumn the calling-of a. conference were received with disappointment.

TEMUKA AND WAIMATE. In a circular letter, the, Temuka Co-op. Dairy Co. has notified its shareholders and suppliers that an extraordinary meeting of the company will be hold in the. Oddfellows' Hall on June sth to consider and confirm a xesokttion (which was carried unanimously) passed by the Board of Directors of the Temuka Co. at a held at the office of the, \Vaimate Co-op. Dairy Co. on May Ist. The resolution reads as follows :-r—----"That the Waimate Co-op. Dairy CO., Ltd., take over all liabilitiealmd assets of the • Temuka Co-op. Dairy Co;, Ltd., as set forth' approximately" to* day, and each company shall call an extraordinary general meeting as soon as possible to' confirm-.the • aotion of the directors. If this resolution is ep-, proved* by both,: the Temuka Co-op., Dairy Co., Ltd., will appoint tw:» directors to the board f of directors oi the Waimate Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd " In a further circular the Teipuka Dairy Company says: "After.many years of keen competition for the same_ supply in the South Canterbury district, the directors of the waimate Co-op Co. ■ and the Temuka Co-op. Co have decided to approach the suppliers of the' district in a-spirit of co-opera-tion 'with' & vie* to, consolidating the position of-both companies. Thebenefits to 'he-.delved by the supplier by doing away with overlapping, by cream collection lorries, bringing with it an unsettling effect upon cheede suppliers, the probability of boundary fixing with other companies in our vicinity until such time as they' may join m this movement, the lessening of overhead expenses will mean not only a considerable increase in your pay-out, but by co-ordination and consolidation, the interests 6f the farmer can be better served. If the farmers of the abovenamed companies support this further step in', and give a lead to" the farmers of the wholb of Sotith Canterbury, tlie highest possible payout"'is assured."
