BARGAIN IN ART.

A GENUINE GAINSBOROUGH. (tjkiteu riussa asbociitiok—bt xlbctbio TEMSGIUFK—COPYBIOaT-) LONDON, May 29. It is reported that a genuine Gains* borough has been bought in the village of St. Paul, near Nice, for £7 10s, by Mrs Gwynn-Griffiths, described as an Australian writer, married to Mr George Baker, of Chicago. The Parisian expert, M. Andrus, attributes the picture to Gainsborough. The subject is a beautiful woman, hatless, and it is suggested that it might be an early portrait of Lady Hamilton, The picture had been in the possession of the shopkeeper's family for many years, and was originally brought from England.
