An application for the removal of the license of the King and Tinker, White Webbs, Enfield, one of the oldest inns in England, to a site nearly three and a half miles away, has been refused by the local licensing justices. It was mentioned that the, King and Tinlrnr i* nearly 1000 years old, and that at one time King James had a- hunting-box nearby, the inn having been re-named, it is rumoured, when the King stood a tinker a drank.
