PARISH MEETINGS.
ST. JOHN'S CHURCH. The ii..uual meeting ot' the parishioner*! of St. Johu's Church, Latimer square, was held in the pariah hall or* Monday, April I 27th, the chair being takca Ly Mr H. Cordery, vicar's warden. The following officers vvcro elected: People's warden, Mr T. J. Bucknell; vestry, Messrs G. T. Anderson, S. J. Archbold. F. C. Ball, J. R. Betts, T. M. Brooks, H. Cordety, J. McHarg, S. Osborne, C. i). fcJheppard, and T J. Stokes. The position of vicar'a warden was left vacant until the vicar-elect has been instituted. Mr C. M. Sheppard was re-elected honorary auditor. Social committee, Mesdames G. T. Anderson, J. R. Belts, Miss M. Woodley, Messrs L. Anderson, T. M. Brooks, M. Gundereon, and C. D. Sheppard. Much regret was expressed that ill health had necessitated the resignation ot the Rev. J. P. Coureey and appreciation of tha splendid work done by both Mr and Mrs Couraey, especially amongst the young people, was uranimously passed. Gratification was expressed at the state of the accounts of the church, all showing a credit balance. The meeting recorded its prateful thanks to all the church workers who by their united efforts had done so much to enable the various organisations to carry on during the lata vicar's illness and until the new Vioar takes charge. The institution of the vicar elect, Rev. T. J. McWilliam, is to take place on Wednesday, May 6th, and it was decided to accord a parish welcomo to the now vicar and Mrs McWilliam at the conclusion of this service. ST. AUGUSTINE'S, CASHMERE HILLS. The annual meeting of Cashmere Hills -parishioners was held at St. Augustine's room on Wednesday, the vicar, the Rev. A. H. Norris presiding. In his brief report tha vieaf mad® Mention of the losses sustained through the death of a number of parishioners, and expressed gratitude for the valuable help given by the Veteran honorary assistant priest, the Rev. F. R. Inwood, and by a considerable number of the laity, among whom Mrs P. liftdd, Miss Walker, and Mrs F. R. Inwood should bo specially mentioned. A gratifying feature of the year's work was the very generous measure of support given to e*tra-pftroehial objects, such as foreign missions, Maori mission, home mission fund, St. Saviour's Orphanage, and St. Anne's Home; the apportionments made by diocesan committees for these funds had all been fulfilled. Reports satisfactory and encouraging wero received on the work of tho Sunday School, King's Crusaders, Bible Classes, St. Augustine's Women's Guild, the choir, foreign mission collectors, Mothers' Union, Prayer Circles, parish magazine, and Cashmere Giris' Club. The Girls' Club had helped six funds, including tlie Cancer Fund, the Tennis Club, and the Piunket Society to the extent ot £54 13s. Mr Ladd presented the warden's repott and balance-sheet, * - hich were adopted, showing total receipts £971 9s 9d, and expenditure £931 13s lOd, but aS the receipts included a temporary loan Of £IOO from the organ fund, there was a debit baliincd £6O 4e* Id on the general fund. Annual subscriptions to the general fund wer® £271 18s, Sunday offerings to general fund £359 lis lid: total amount given to extraparochial objeots £258 14s 2d; amounts paid to C.P T on account of loans, vicarage, una Boekenbam £172. The efforts of a local committee had resulted in donations to St. Saviour's orphanage funds of £174. A hearty voto of thanks to all tha Workers, moved by Mr E. G. Hogg, was carried by acclamation. ■ It was resolved to sund to Archbishop Julius a latter expressing gratitude for his most valuable ministrations at St. Augustine's. Thanks were accorded to the hon. auditor. Mr P. H. Harris. Tho following church officers were appointed:—Vicar's warden, Mr B. G. Hogg; parishioners' warden, Mr P. Ladd; vestrymen. Miss Walker, Major Berrow, Dr. F. v. Bevan-Brown. Messrs U. A, Papprill. A. C. Andrews, A. J. Derbidge, J. S. Inwood, 0B Mackisack, H. A. Young, and P. G. Greenwood; rural deanery delegates, Mrs J. Cracroft Wilson, Messrs H. G. Hogs, and H. A. Young.' hon. auditor, Mr P. H. Harris. The returning officer, Mr P. Ladd, reported that Mr E. G. Hogg had bcea< elected diocesan synodsman. At the close Of the meetinsr. supper was provided by the Women's Guild.
