SCULPTURED PANEL ON THE WELLINGTON WAR MEMORIAL.—Two panels sculptured in low relief occupy a prominent place in the Wellington Citizens' War Memorial. The one illustrated shows the severance of family ties. The other panel depicts the abandonment of agricultural and other pursuits at the urgent call of war. The memorial is now completed, but will not be officially unveiled until all the surroundings are finished, including buildings which are to form a suitable background to the memorial.
