A hook that was taken from a fishing line in the Manukau Harbour, Auckland, on Sunday morning was found in a fish captured the same afternoon a couple of miles away. During the morning when a party was ' fishing at the mouth of Clark's Creek, a sharp bite took the hook off one of the lines. Sport was poor, so at mid-day the boat ran up the creek and anchored a couple of miles from the first position. Here tho catch included a good-sized kahawai, which, when it was being cleaned, was found to have tho lost hook, with part of the bait still on it, embedded in its throat. The liook was positively identified by the man who had lost it, as the shank still showed scratches where be had scraped the rust off with his knife. It would seem to show that fish are very insensitive to pain, for the kahawai retained its appetito though it had a hook in its throat.' Concerns merchandising products ot good quality can develop the unparalleled sal<- opportunities in Canterbury most effectively and most economically through tho advertising columns of This Peess.
