ASHLEY RIVER TRUST,
The monthly meeting of the Ashley River Trust; was held on tag. Present were Mr 0. 8. Agere (in the chair), and Messrs li. S. Stokea, B. J. Benje», R. D. Hutchison, P.'J. Lindsay, and R. C. Wright. ' 'An application from Mr D. H. Banks to have the 'tease of a reserve held by him cancelled was granted, "The Rangiora County Council wrote, drawing attention'to damage to river bank at Luggatts J>v campers, and aa»-. ina that permits for sites bv leaseholders be prohibited. It was decided to wnte to hut owners that' they must h>ve put over the. fltoprbanka. _ "The foreman, in his monthly report, stated that repairs to the stop. bank Waittuku had .been completed, ana a fence erected, much' _to the dis* pleasure of visitors., as wire's had been palled down, and the new stop ban* trampled down. Behind the groyne at Crofts baftk a plantation of willows has been put in. At this point » scour is taking place, and Ipst year s repair work is now under water, suggested that shjnccle be. carted.
