Earthquake Belief Fund.. . « As a result of a flannel dance-held recently by the To Whaka Tennis Club the sum of £l4 5a has been paid to the Mayor for the HawkeVßay Earthquake Belief Fund. There were no .expenses in connexion frith the dance, the. hall, music, and supper being provided <free Of COBt. ' z' - Women's Hockey Club. The annual meeting of the Lyttolton Ladies' Hockey Club was held on Thurs- > day evening, Mr. H. W. Bogero presiding over a good attendance. The secretary's action in arranging a match against the Bed cliffs Ladies' CJuK on Easter Saturday at Lyttelton was approved. ■ Seven, new members, were; elected and one resignation received. Ifcwas decided to elect Miss Norah Carson an honorary member'and' wish her.a speedy recovery from her illness. ' The annual report showed that -the, , club • had had a successful season. Bef ginning with twelve members last season the club has doubled its member- . ' ship and completed the season with a • credit balance "of £l3 8s sd. One team had been entered in the Canterbury Ladies' Hockey Association competitions} and the .year's experience had been a good education. A team was also entered in the' Geraldine ladies' six-a-side, but had not been successful. The election of officers resulted as fol- . lows:—Patron/Mrs W. T. Foster; presir dent, 'Mr, F. E. Beid; club captain, Miss. p. Beaumont; delegates to Ladies' Hockey . Association, Mrs Ci'A. Bogers and MiBSA. Davies; hon. auditor, 'Mr C. A, i Bogers; committee, ,Misses A. Bavies, N. Quested, and 1. Mather. The opening day. was fixed for April ; 11th: The annual subscription was fixed » at 7s 6d. The committee were authorised td> pay travelling expenses where advisable. It was decided to record the committee's appreciatidn of the services of the. retiring secretary, Miss A. Davies.
